Abstract
A Clathria sp. collected in the Great Australian Bight has yielded the nove l metabolites clathrins A (6), B (7), and C (8). Structures were assigned t o clathrins A-C on the basis of spectroscopic analysis. Clathrin A (6) repr esents a plausible biosynthetic intermediate that provides an inferred link between marine sesquiterpene/benzenoids and mixed terpene/shikimate biosyn thesis.
