N. Otagiri et al., Posterior sagittal approach for Currarino syndrome with anterior sacral meningocele: A case report, J PED SURG, 35(7), 2000, pp. 1112-1114
The authors report a case of Currarino syndrome with anterior sacral mening
ocele, tethered cord, and anorectal stenosis that was treated by posterior
sagittal approach. Initially, a diverting colostomy was performed, Two mont
hs later, excision of the meningocele, untethering of spinal cord, and anor
ectoplasty were performed simultaneously without complication. Posterior sa
gittal approach seems to be very beneficial for excision of the presacral m
ass and reconstruction of the anus. Copyright a 2000 by W.B. Saunders Compa
