Abstract
A crystal of the non-linear and laser matrix Ca4GdO(BO3)(3) (GdCOB) was gro wn by the Czochralski technique and polarized Raman scattering spectra were measured along its crystallophysic optical axes. A vibrational assignment is proposed in correlation with the two crystallographic types of (BO3)(3-) groups that are responsible for the non-linearity of the matrix.
