Two methods, the Method of Effective Trajectories and the Method of Di
storted Particle Flux, are suggested for calculation of cross-sections
of n-n' transitions between Rydberg states of multicharged ions induc
ed by electron impact. These methods are based on rectilinear trajecto
ries with affective impact parameter and effective velocity. The diffe
rence between direct calculations of Coulomb-Born cross-sections and t
hese methods for transitions with principal quantum numbers n,n' less
than or equal to 6 is about 10-20%. Calculations of cross-sections 20
--> 20 + Delta n are given.
