Abstract
Method-performance studies were conducted for the notified revised analytic al method for esprocarb, chlorpropham, thiobencarb, pyributicarb and pendim ethalin. The five pesticides spiked in rice, soybeans, potato, cabbage, oni on, cucumber, radish and lemon at the level of 0.1 mu g/g were analyzed in replicate in 6 laboratories. Means of esprocarb recoveries ranged from 89.0 to 99.4%. Repeatability rela tive standard deviations (RSDr) of the recoveries in each crop ranged from 1.5 to 9.1% and reproducibility relative standard deviations (RSDR) ranged from 8.8 to 14.8%. Means of chlorpropham recoveries ranged from 91.7 to 102.0%. The RSDr and R SDR ranged from 1.1 to 6.5% and from 7.9 to 17.3%, respectively. For thiobe ncarb, the means of recoveries, RSDr and RSDR were 87.2 similar to 102.2%, 1.7 similar to 6.1% and 8.9 similar to 16.4%, respectively. For pyributicar b, the means of recoveries, RSDr and RSDR were 87.8 similar to 96.0%, 2.4 s imilar to 9.6% and 8.5 similar to 14.4%, respectively. For pendimethalin, t hey were 88.6 similar to 99.4%, 2.7 similar to 8.5% and 8.1 similar to 16.4 %. Detection limits were 0.0001 similar to 0.01 mu g/g for pyributicarb and 0. 00005 similar to 0.005 mu g/g for the other 4 pesticides.
