Reclaiming of rubber by a renewable resource material - Assessment of vulcanized SBR reclaiming process

Sulfur cured SBR vulcanizates were reclaimed by a renewable resource materi al (RRM) which is a vegetable product, The progress of reclaiming was monit ored by estimating the sol and gel portions, molecular weight determination of sol and Mooney viscosity of reclaimed rubber, The properties of SBR rec laim were evaluated by mixing it with fresh rubber in various proportions. The effect of carbon black loading, additives level and retarder were studi ed in SBR/reclaim (50/50) blends, Tensile properties and swelling value wer e evaluated before and after aging.
