turn will influence tire durability. Examples are given of the effect of po
lymers, antidegradants and curing agents on compound properties including w
eather resistance, impermeability, fatigue resistance, hysteresis and adhes
ion, Included is data illustrating the advantages of a new bromobutyl polym
er in innerliners, and of neodymium catalyzed butadiene rubber in sidewalls
