Iv. Frishberg et al., Special features of steel wear when using a lubricating material containing zinc alloy powder, METAL SCI H, 41(11-12), 1999, pp. 500-503
It is shown that the addition of a high-dispersity zinc alloy powder to pla
stic lubricating material Litol-24 causes deposition of a thin layer of zin
c on the friction surface. This metal-filled lubricating material withstand
s higher loads and temperatures, which promotes a considerable decrease in
the wear of the friction pair. The metallic layer formed protects the steel
from corrosion.
