Abstract
A three-dimensional adaptive level set method has Been developed for deform able free surface problems with or without solidification. In the new schem e, a three-dimensional multizone adaptive grid generation (MAGG) scheme is employed to track the moving boundaries and a level set method is used to c apture the free surface deformation. The effectiveness and robustness of th e algorithm are demonstrated by solving the droplet spreading and solidific ation problem, in which both free surface and solidification interface move ments are important.
