Abstract
Both title compounds, [Cd(SO4)(C12H8N2)(H2O)(2)](n) and [Cd(SO4)(C14H12N2)( H2O)(2)](n), respectively, are polymeric and present the Cd atoms in very s imilar octahedral environments, provided by the bidentate organic ligand (p henanthroline/dimethylphenanthroline), two aqua molecules and two O atoms f rom two translationally related sulfate groups, which thus act as links in the resulting polymeric chains.
