The NOx intercalation properties of La2-xBaxSrCu2O6-delta was investig
ated by thermal analysis (TGA-DTA) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscop
y (XPS) analysis. The results of thermal analysis showed that the NOx
absorbability was increased by Ba substitution. The N1s XPS spectra su
ggested the surface adsorption of NO2- and NO3- groups corresponding t
o NOx trapped by oxygen vacancies. The chemical shift of Cu2p XPS peak
indicated the increasing hole concentrations at the level of O2p with
NOx intercalation. Also, the surface intercalation of NO2 resulted th
e chemical shift of Ba3d and Sr3d XPS peaks.
