Abstract
Clomipramine hydrochloride was used to treat 14 cats presented fur various behavioural problems. It was completely successful in eliminating the probl em in six cats, and caused partial resolution of the problem in the remaind er. Side-effects were reported in 10 cats, and included drowsiness, pupil d ilation, and urinary retention. Burmese and Siamese/Oriental cars were over represented when compared to the general pet cat population. The most comm on anxiety-provoking stimulus was separation from the owner and not inter-c at conflict as a source.
