Abstract
The Rankine cycle of big coal fired power plants has achieved high efficien cy. This is reached by new materials allowing for high process temperatures , improvement of components and optimisation of arrangement. Beside this, t he application of special thermodynamical analysis revealing all process po tentials is advised.
