T. Yasui et al., 2-DIMENSIONAL EXCITON-STATES OF GAAS ALAS MULTIQUANTUM WELLS UNDER HIGH MAGNETIC-FIELDS/, Physica. B, Condensed matter, 201, 1994, pp. 407-410
Hydrogen-like exciton states at high magnetic fields up to 25 T are st
udied by magneto-optical spectroscopy of a multiquantum well sample wi
th 265 angstrom-thick wells of GaAs and 260 angstrom-thick barriers of
AlAs. These excitonic states are well explained by effective mass cal
culations which take into account residual electric fields in the samp
le and the valence band mixing in magnetic fields. A symmetry change o
f the exciton ground state is observed at a magnetic field of approxim
ately 15 T.
