Abstract
The effect of glucose limitation and starvation of glucose-deprived ce lls on glucose transport was studied in the rapidly growing variant of Rhodococcus minimus. It was shown that the S3 transport system presen t in the rapidly growing variant, like the S1 transport system of the slowly growing variant of the rhodecoccus, is regulated via catabolite repression-inactivation (glucose effect). The role of this mechanism in the regulation of the Rhodococcus minimus growth rate is discussed.
