Abstract
Conventional management tools are restricted in their application. This pap er details the use of Petri nets (PNs) in project management. In this conte xt, the benefits of PNs are indicated. Extensions to PNs are proposed to su it this area of application. The use of a P-matrix for token movements is p roposed. A resource levelling algorithm is described and applied to a case study.
