Abstract
Industrial wastewater with a high value of CDO (Chemical Demand of Oxygen e . g - 100 000 mg l(-1)) was treated by electrolysis. The pH, temperature an d anode material of the electrolysis process have been optimized It was sho wn that the optimized pH and temperature of the treatment were, respectivel y 11-12 and 75 degrees C. It was found that anodes based on lead dioxide on to titanium or DSA are the best anodes for this process. The energetic cost of the process has been determined for various experimental conditions. Fo r various experimental conditions, it was showing that the energetic cost o f the waste water treatment is closed to 1.0-1.1 kWh/L.
