Results of an experimental study of the effect of intense laser radiation i
n the mid-lR range on VO2 mirrors are presented. The damage thresholds of V
O2 mirrors by single-pulse, periodically pulsed, and cw radiation are deter
mined, and the damage mechanism is analyzed. A numerical simulation of the
switching dynamics of VO2 mirrors under intense periodically pulsed radiati
