The heat capacity measurements were carried out on a glassy sample of GeSe2
using an adiabatic calorimeter in the temperature range from 13 to 300 K.
The heat capacity data were compared with those previously measured on the
crystalline GeSe2. The heat capacity value of the glassy GeSe2 was smaller
than that of the crystalline GeSe2 below about 60 K, vice versa above it. T
he crossing phenomenon of the heat capacity curves was discussed on the bas
is of the density-of-states in the lattice vibrations, and a difference was
pointed out in the long-range ordering in their layered structures. (C) 20
