Abstract
We present an implementation of heavy quarkonium production within a p erturbative QCD cascade based on the Color Dipole Cascade model. We co nsider the processes most relevant in the context of the psi' surplus at the Tevatron; g --> psi' and c --> psi' in the color-singlet model and g --> psi' through the color-octet mechanism. Our implementation i s, however, easily extendible to other quarkonia and other production mechanisms. Where comparison is possible we find good agreement with a nalytical calculations. We present some suggestions for measurements a t the Tevatron that would be sensitive to the shape of the fragmentati on functions. Our calculations indicate that such measurements could b e used to test the color-octet mechanism solution to the psi' surplus at the Tevatron.
