Abstract
Neutron total cross-section data for normal and deuterated ethanol in the r ange of 10(-3)-10 eV are presented. The dynamics of both systems is describ ed through a synthetic model with a minimum set of input parameters, especi ally useful in Monte-Carlo simulations devised for multiple scattering corr ections of experimental data. Total cross-sections are calculated for both systems with this model, and good agreement with the experimental data is f ound. Dynamic and structural features are discerned, and the usefulness of these data as a complement of more detailed neutron experiment is commented . (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
