Abstract
Synthesis, structure, and some reactivities of kinetically stabilized plumb ylenes are described. The reaction of an extremely hindered plumbylene Tbt( 2)Pb: (Tbt= 2,4,6-tris[bis(trimethylsilyl)methyl]pheyl with elemental sulfu r gave Tbt(TbtS)Pb: via an interesting 1,2-aryl migration of the intermedia ry plumbanethione, Tbt(2)Pb=S. The reactions of overcrowded aryl(arylthio)p lumbylenes and bis(arylthio)-plumbylenes with carbon disulfide are also des cribed.
