Lj. Curtis, Branching fractions and transition probabilities for Ga II, In II and Tl II from measured lifetime and energy level data, PHYS SCR, 62(1), 2000, pp. 31-35
Branching fractions and relative transition probabilities are predicted for
the ns(2)-nsnp and nsnp-nsnd supermultiplets in Ga II, In II and T1 II thr
ough a data-based systematization of measured lifetime and spectroscopic en
ergy level data. A formalism is used that parametrizes the effects of Coulo
mb exchange, spin-orbit and spin-other-orbit interactions, and differences
between the radial wave functions of the singlet and triplet states to dedu
ce effective intermediate coupling amplitudes. Connections between singlet
and triplet lifetimes and among triplet lifetimes are examined and predicti
ons are made where data do not currently exist.
