T. Fahmy et Mt. Ahmed, Alpha relaxation study in poly(vinyl chloride)/poly(ethyl methacrylate) blends using thermally stimulated currents, POLYM INT, 49(7), 2000, pp. 669-677
Thermoelectrets of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) and poly(ethyl methacrylate)
(PEMA) blends were prepared using the conventional thermal poling method. a
lpha-Relaxation in this polyblend was investigated using thermally stimulat
ed depolarization currents (TSDC). The global spectra of the polyblends rev
ealed that the two polymers are not completely compatible. An Eyring relati
onship was verified through the linear relation between the activation enth
alpy Delta H and the activation entropy Delta S. In addition, the thermal s
ampling (TS) data were used to determine the compensation parameters such a
s compensation temperature T-c and compensation time (tau(c)). These parame
ters were used to calculate the density of disorder (DOD) for all samples,
which was found to be close to 32%. (C) 2000 Society of Chemical Industry.
