Based upon Monte-Carlo simulations, analytic theory, and experiment a hoppi
ng concept for charge injection into random organic a-functional dielectric
s is been developed and tested. The treatment is flexible enough to include
interfacial properties and to incorporate space charge limited current flo
w. A hopping concept has also been employed to analyse experimental data on
the hole mobility in conjugated polymers. The time response of LEDs, thoug
h more complicated, can be rationalized in terms of self-consistent analyti
c theory. It has been applied to tunneling controlled time dependent electr
oluminescence in a bilayer LED.
