Abstract
The microscopic structure of nanoporous silica is investigated using the Mo lecular Dynamics simulation method. Porous silica structures are produced b y simulated atom aggregation and clustering. The structures are then relaxe d at atmospheric pressure. We find that on these length scales the simulate d porous silicas have a minimum fractal dimension of 2.6 and density 0.7 g/ ml.
