Abstract
Fast and temperature-stable emission band at 5.8 eV has been revealed in a K2SO4 crystal. This emission can be effectively excited by photons of h nu > 15 eV and is interpreted as radiative electron transitions between the su bbands of a splitted valence band. The threshold of the formation of electr on-hole pairs equals E-t = 8.9 eV.
