Weldbonding: a very well adapted joining technique to decrease the weight of steel structures

The association of spot welding and adhesive bonding, named weldbonding, is a steel joining technique which increasingly interests car manufacturers. Nevertheless, weldbonding is not at present used extensively by them due to a lack of data related to the performance of this technique, Studies carri ed out by Usinor have succeeded in demonstrating that weldbonding is a very well adapted joining technique to decrease the weight of steel structures.
