The results concerning the synthesis of NiFe2O4 through thermal decompositi
on of an oxalic coprecipitate are presented. The coprecipitates synthesized
by a forced hydrolysis were characterized by chemical analysis, vibrationa
l spectra, X-ray powder diffractometry, magnetic susceptibility measurement
s and thermal analysis. A pure, well crystallized NiFe2O4 with mean crystal
lite sizes of similar to 330 Angstrom was obtained at 450 degrees C.
