Abstract
The severe working conditions often puts the conticaster rolls out of opera tion. In this paper, the detonation spray coating was used to try and prote ct the rolls. Using the orthogonal test, suitable technological parameters were obtained. The experimental results show that the coatings processed we re dense with good bonding to substrate as well as high resistance to high temperature oxidation and wear. Reports from the in-service test at Bao Sha n Steel Company indicate that the Cr3C2-NiCr detonation spray coating produ ced by authors has at least doubled the roll life.
