SYNTHESIS AND REACTIVITY IN INORGANIC AND METAL-ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
The synthesis and structural characterization of a trinuclear Schiff base c
omplex with a Cu2Dy (Dy = dysprosium) core is reported for the first time.
The crystal data for [C42H40N6O12C13Cu2Dy]. 6H(2)O (2) are as follows: orth
orhombic, space group Pbcn (#60), Z = 4, a = 12.476(5) Angstrom, b = 26.522
(5) Angstrom, c = 15.028(5) Angstrom, V = 4973(1) Angstrom(3), F(000) = 260
8, Dc = 1.748 gcm(-3), mu(Mo-K alpha) = 3.37 mm(-1), T = 296 K and 2130 ref
lections were observed with [I>2 sigma(I)]. The refinement converged with R
= 0.089, Rw = 0.086 and S = 1.40. The coordinate polyhedron of the central
metal Dy(III) and Cu(II) atoms is an eight-coordinated trigonal-dodecahedr
one and a five-coordinated square-pyramid, respectively.
