Abstract
The sodium salts of two heteropoly anions, [Co6W18O70H8](12)- and [Fe6W18O7 0H2](12)- have been isolated in the crystalline form. Evidence from chemica l analyses, Fast Atom Bombardment mass spectroscopy (FABMS), infrared spect roscopy (IR), ultraviolet spectroscopy (UV), visible spectroscopy, and cycl ic voltammetry support the above formulations. The structure of these anion s is believed to be similar to the Weakley structure in which two half Kegg in structures sandwich between them four metal ions of octahedral coordinat ion.
