We present identification and astrometry of all previously known or suspect
ed variables along with the discovery of six new variables in the globular
cluster M3. The number of the catalogized variables increased to 274 by inc
luding all the confirmed, previously known variables and the new discoverie
s. The precise and homogeneous astrometry, as well as the clarification of
misapprehensions in the preceding identifications are done by using overlap
ping fields from a wide-field Schmidt-camera, l-m RCC telescope, and HST ar
chive observations from the center of the cluster. The astrometric position
s can serve as a direct input to any photometry which needs the accurate ce
nters of the variables.
