A review of the genus Pseudocalotes (Squamata : Agamidae), with description of a new species from West Malaysia

A new species of the genus Pseudocalotes (P. dringi n. sp.) from the mounta in forest of Western Malaysia is described. The holotype of the new species was formerly regarded as a syntype of P. floweri. A review of all species of the genus is given including a differential diagnosis and a key to the s pecies. Diagnostic characters for the genera Bronchocela, Calotes, Dendraga ma were established. Paracalotes poilani and Pseudocophotis sumatrana, show ing all diagnostic characters of the genus Pseudocalotes, are included in t hat genus. Members of Pseudocalotes of the Indochinese region can be differ entiated from members inhabiting the Sunda region by the shape of the scale s under the third toe.
