Clare Design (Environmentally sensitive design)

Queensland, Australia, may seem an unlikely setting for developing the desi gn tenets of a northern European modernist, but as editors of UME magazine, Haig Beck and Jackie Cooper found out, Lindsay and Kerry Clare of Clare De sign have used the designs of Alvar Aalto as a starting point for the evolu tion of their own work--marked by its clarity and sensitivity to the enviro nment.
