Abstract
Metal-ligand co-ordination frameworks of 4,4'-bipyridine-N,N'-dioxide (L) h ave been prepared; {[Sm(L)(2)-(NO3)(3)]. 0.5H(2)O}(infinity) 1, {[Er-2(L)(3 )(NO3)(6)]. 2CH(3)OH}(infinity) 2; 1 shows rare two-fold interpenetrating t hree-dimensional CdSO4-like nets, and 2 shows an unprecedented two-dimensio nal 4.8(2) network.
