Abstract
The first comprehensive investigation of S atom transfer between two differ ent metal centers is presented using the reaction of the terminal chalcogen atom bearing complex [CyNC(Bu-t)NCy](2)SnS with [CyNC(Bu-t)NCy](2)Ge-II; t his multielectron redox reaction between Ge-II and Sn-IV proceeds via a sec ond-order process with an inner sphere mechanism involving a mu-S intermedi ate as the proposed pathway; results of S and Se atom transfer between [CyN C(Bu-t)NCy](2)Ge and PPh3 are also presented.
