Abstract
The new ligand (1R, 2R) (+) N, N' -bis( 8-quinolinesulfonylamino)-1, 2-diph enylethylene diamine(BQSDA) was synthesized. The 1 : 1 chiral crystal was f ormed from BQSDA with acetone. The crystal belongs to monoclinic, space gro up P2(1), a = 0. 971 7(2) nm, b = 0. 949 5(10) nm, c = 1. 754 2(3) nm, alph a = gamma = 90 degrees, beta = 97. 130 degrees, V = 1. 606(5) nm(3), D-c = 1. 35 g/cm(3). There is a hydrogen bond N1-H...O5 between BQSDA and acetone . The ligand has been used as the chiral catalyst in asymmetric hydrogen tr ansfer reaction of acetophenone in a high yield with e. e. up to 66. 5%.
