Abstract
The title complex bis{1-(2-methoxyethyl) indenyl} dysprosium chloride ( (CH 3OCH2CH2C9H6)(2)DyCl, M-r = 544. 42) crystallizes in the triclinic, space g roup P (1) over bar (No. 2) with unit cell parameters a = 10. 326(1), b = 1 0. 591(1), c = 20. 256(3) Angstrom, alpha = 91. 543(9), beta = 97. 69(1), g amma = 94. 754(9)degrees, V = 2186. 2(9) Angstrom(3), Z = 4, F(000) = 1076, D-C = 1. 65g/cm(3), mu = 35. 87cm(-1), R = 0. 042 and R-w = 0. 051 for 619 3 observed reflections with I>3 sigma(I). X-ray crystal structure study sho ws there are two crystallographically independent molecules A and B (A = (C H3OCH2CH2C9H6)(2) Dy(1)-Cl, B = (CH3OCH2CH2C9H6)(2)Dy (2)Cl) in an asymmetr ic unit of the title complex. Each molecule was unsolvated monomeric molecu le with a trans arrangement of both the sidearms and indenyl rings.
