Abstract
The first phosphorane 3, C30H27N3O12P4, M-r= 745.43, bearing three P-P bond s, was synthesized and its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffra ction method. The crystal data are as follows: colorless crystals, orthorho mbic, space group P2(1)2(1)2(1), a= 9. 4387(1), b=18. 424(2), c=19. 358(2) Angstrom, V= 3366. 57(7) Angstrom (3), D-c=1. 471Mg/M-3 , lambda(MoK alpha) =0. 71073 Angstrom, mu(MoK alpha) = 0. 291mm(-1), F(000) = 1536, Z = 4. Th e structure was refined to R = 0. 0598 and omega R(F-2) = 0. 0758 for 5946 observed reflections [I>2 sigma(I)]. The geometry of the P(4) atom is pyram idal, whereas the coordination geometry around the P(1.), P(2) and P(3) ato ms is a strongly distorted trigonal-bipyramid.
