Abstract
The past decade has been witness to a new impetus in surfactant self-assemb ly objects as agents for drug delivery that are an alternative to micellar, lamellar (liposome, niosome and transfersome) or microemulsion-based vehic les. The review focus herein is on the application of hexagonal, cubic, 'in termediate' (viz. rhombohedral, tetragonal and monoclinic) and L-3 ('sponge ') mesophases. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
