Abstract
A new dynamic multicasting algorithm denoted the least loaded multicast (LL M) algorithm is proposed for bi-directional rings. The 'revenue loss factor ' gamma of the network is adopted as the performance metric of the multicas ting algorithm. Computer simulations show that LLM routing is stable even n ear the saturation region and gamma is significantly smaller than that for minimum-hop routing.
