The increased consumption of typical daily products and the need to safegua
rd the consumers from the health point of view, have underlined some proble
ms related to the production of the Pecorino Siciliano, a DOP cheese (Reg.
CEE 1107/96). For this reason it is born the project of the Caseomobile: a
mobile system for cheesemaking. Its first aim is to grant quality assurance
in the milk production areas, in order to enhance and protect Pecorino Sic
iliano cheese and other daily products from sheep and goat milk, obtained f
rom transhumant breedings. This system, is designed for flocks of over 100
heads in lactation, it is completely self-sufficient and can operate withou
t the support of drinkable water or electric power. Furthermore Caseomobile
guarantees the full respect of the 92/46 directive.
