24-hour monitoring of arterial pressure was performed before, 3 and 9
weeks after moexipril treatment (daily dose 7.5-15 mg) for mild and mo
derate hypertension. Of 15 patients treated 66.6% responded to the 9-w
eek course. Adjuvant hypothiazid elevated the effect to 73.6%. Moexipr
il lowered mean 24-h diastolic pressure without changing the 24-h pres
sure curve or heart rate. Antihypertensive moexipril effect was higher
in the day time. Variability of diastolic arterial pressure was lower
at night.
