RADIOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE PELVIC LIMB IN THE GROWING IBERIAN PIG

The chronology of ossification of the pelvic limb of the growing Iberi an pig is analyzed by the radiological method, from birth to 482 days (16 months). Forty eight individuals have been used, 24 males and 24 f emales born from eight gilts; all were castrated and distributed withi n 6 age groups : birth (1 day), weaning (58 days), preparation (<<recr ia>>, 234 days), beginning (<<premontanera>>, 352 days), half (<<media montanera>>, 424 days) and end (<<montanera>>, 482 days) of fattening . The appearance and the evolution of the ossification centers are obs erved, as well as some phenomena occurring during the fusion of the os sification centers.
