The chemical composition of the hydrodistilled fruit oil of Biota orientali
s (L.) Endl, was examined by GC and GC/MS. Of the 25 constituents present i
n the oil, 17 were identified in which eight were monoterpene hydrocarbons
(88.4%), four oxygenated monoterpenes (3.4%), three sesquiterpene hydrocarb
ons (2.1%), and two oxygenated sesquiterpenes (3.0%); alpha-pinene was the
major constituents of the oil.
