Mk. Donais et al., CERTIFICATION OF 3 MUSSEL TISSUE STANDARD REFERENCE MATERIALS (SRM) FOR METHYLMERCURY AND TOTAL MERCURY CONTENT, Fresenius' journal of analytical chemistry, 358(3), 1997, pp. 424-430
SRM 1974a, Organics in Mussel Tissue (Mytilus edulis); SRM 2974, Organ
ics in Mussel Tissue (freeze-dried); and SRM 2976, Mussel Tissue (trac
e elements and methylmercury) have been recently certified for methylm
ercury and total mercury content. Three independent analytical procedu
res were used to determine the certified methylmercury concentrations.
Four independent procedures combined with data from two intercomparis
on exercises were used to determine the certified total mercury concen
trations. These materials are the first certified metal speciation env
ironmental SRMs issued by the National Institute of Standards and Tech
nology.
