Abstract
Reaction of (1-azabuta-1,3-diene)tricarbonyliron(0) complexes with sodium b orohydride under microwave irradiation leads to formation of saturated seco ndary amines. When sodium borodeuteride is used for the reaction the produc ts are 1,2,3-trideutero secondary amines. When this reaction is performed u nder thermal conditions the complexes are inert to reduction by sodium boro hydride. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
