Abstract
A good grasp of the fundamental physiology of healing results in a cle arer understanding of the pathophysiologic processes that impair heali ng. This article reviews the biological bases of acute wound healing, illustrating the different phases of the immunologic cascade. Several new aspects of healing and clinical examples are presented.
