eriods: the 1980s, the early 1990s, and more recent trends, in this review,
the focus is on this decade, in which the detergent industry has implement
ed the most fundamental changes in process technology of these decades. At
the same time, however, these changes can be better appreciated by understa
nding (i) the limitations of the spray-drying process as the industry's tra
ditional workhorse and (ii) the driving forces for change.
